Back to Rote

What we collect.

Two separate things: this website, and the Rote app. The short version is that the site collects the details you choose to send through the waitlist, and the app keeps your work on your machine.

This website

The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. There is no session, so there is nothing to identify you with between visits. The interactive demos on the home page run entirely in your browser — nothing you type into them is sent anywhere.

The waitlist

When you join the waitlist, you submit your name and email address. You can also choose use cases and describe what you would like to automate. Those extra details are optional. We use your submission to contact you about early access and understand how you intend to use Rote. The form sends these details only when you submit it; they are not saved in your browser’s local storage.

The Rote app

Captures, workflows and run logs are written to your own device and are never uploaded. Sensitive fields — passwords, card numbers, client details — are detected and masked at capture time, so what reaches disk is the mask and not the value. Rote works with no network connection at all.

Rote can send one thing, and only if you switch it on: an anonymous run counter. It carries no captures, no field values, no app names, and nothing identifying you or your clients. It is off by default.

What your browser still sends

One thing happens outside our control, and you should know about it: whoever hosts the files sees the usual web-server request log — your IP address, the page you asked for, your user agent and a timestamp.

Fonts are self-hosted and served from this same origin, so no request goes to a third-party font CDN.

The background video

The video is served from this same origin and plays muted, with no microphone, camera or device permissions requested at any point.
